Chattanooga State Community College recognized The Osbourne Foundation and The Tucker Foundation at its inaugural virtual Philanthropy Awards ceremony last week.
The Tucker Foundation, recipient of the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Philanthropy, contributed more than $350,000 to the Chattanooga State Foundation since 2002. Amy Moore, vice president of The Tucker Foundation, accepted the award, noting, “We are pleased to play a part in the Chattanooga State success story.”
The Weldon F. Osbourne Foundation, recipient of the Regents Award for Excellence in Philanthropy, contributed more than $250,000 to the Chattanooga State Foundation since June of 2007. Executive Director of The Osbourne Foundation, Barbara Marter, accepted the award, stating, “When your students are successful, lives are transformed and our community is stronger.”
Chattanooga State was one of nine community colleges nationwide that recently earned “Leader College” status as part of the Achieving the Dream Network.
“This milestone represents a huge campus collaboration over the past few years to change the trajectory of our student outcomes, and particularly improve student success among low-income students and students of color,” said Chattanooga State
President Rebecca Ashford. “I am proud to recognize both The Osborne Foundation and The Tucker Foundation for their philanthropic leadership.”
