Bettye Woods

GRAYSVILLE - Bettye Bayless Woods, 76, of Pikeville embraced eternity with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Saturday, November 28, 2020. She was born in Pikeville, TN to Marie (Singleton) and A.H. Bayless and raised in Fall Creek Falls State Park where A.H was the park ranger. In 1963, she married William (Hap) Woods. In 1964, they moved to Sacramento, CA. Bettye and Hap retired to Graysville, TN in 2006.

The dash between the dates representing her time on earth is a testimony to Christ. Always willing to serve, Bettye was active in her home church teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir and organizing small Bible Study groups. She gave generously with her time and love to others. No matter her situation, she always had a smile to give, a word of encouragement to share and a prayer to offer.

Bettye is preceded in passing by her parents and an infant sister, Thelma Louise. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Hap Woods; son, Roger (Holly) Woods of Arlington, TX and sister, Carol (Wendell) Johnson of Soddy Daisy, TN.

Visitation is 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Saturday, December 5, 2020 with her Celebration of Life Service following at 12:00 P.M. at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home. The graveside committal service will be at 2:00 PM central time, Saturday, December 5th at Beach Cemetery in Pikeville, TN. All are welcome.
