Boys & Girls Clubs announces 2021 leadership
The Boys & Girls Club of Chattanooga announced the election of its 2021 Executive Leadership. LaTonya Lyons will serve as board chair, having previously been the organization’s secretary and sponsor of the club’s teen leadership programs.
Lyons is a director of national client experience at Unum and has been active in board leadership and club operations for many years.
“I am humbled and energized to lead the club during these trying yet exciting times and I look forward to working with my fellow board members to expand our club’s presence in Chattanooga,” Lyons said.
Montrell Besley, director of outreach at Chattanooga Preparatory School will serve as secretary, and Adam Osborne, a partner at Henderson, Hutcherson & McCullough CPAs, will serve as treasurer.
Barry VanDelinder Jr., vice president of finance and accounting with Alderman Enterprises, is a club’s vice president of the internal affairs committee, which is responsible for club programming, operations, finance and accounting. Evann Freeman, the director of government relations at EPB, is vice president of the external affairs committee, which is responsible for outreach, marketing and communications, volunteers and resource development.
“The club has expanded its presence in Alton Park, Eastlake, Highland Park and Orchard Knob neighborhoods and our 2021 priorities are laser focused on education and supporting Hamilton County Schools,” Freeman said.
