Anita Jean Kioebge Davis, 89, of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia passed away Good Friday, April 2, 2021, at a local hospital.

She was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 9, 1932 and moved to Dalton, Georgia at age 10, where her parents founded a successful textile company, Anita Textiles, named after her. She attended Dalton High School and Notre Dame High School, where she graduated. Anita served in the Navy during the Korean War.

Anita was preceded in death by former husband James Davis, parents Edward and Anna Kioebge, brother Edward Kioebge Jr., sisters Dr. Marie Schmitt and Jeanette Hermetet. She is survived by her children, Dianne Davis and Joe Davis of Ringgold, Georgia, Donald Davis (Jelena), currently of Islamabad, Pakistan, Susan Davidson (Rick) of Westville, Florida, Patty Weaver (Mark) of East Ridge, Tennessee, grandsons Evan Williams of Westville, Florida and Matthew Weaver, currently of Nanjing, China and several nieces and nephews.

A member of St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church since 1953, Anita loved the Lord and everyone she met. She is a bright star in Heaven, dancing and shouting AMEN! A funeral mass presided by Rev. Brian Bufford will be held at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 3049 Lafayette Road, Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia 30742 on Saturday, April 17 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributi­ons may be made to St. Vincent De Paul charity and sent to the church.
