Chattanooga’s premier arts festival returns as a live event this weekend, Finley Stadium is hosting Chattanooga’s largest-ever professional soccer tournament and the Bobby Stone Film Series has the perfect movie for 4/20.

› NISA tournament: The National Independent Soccer Association’s spring tournament is underway at Finley Stadium, 1826 Reggie White Blvd. The Chattanooga Football Club and eight other NISA clubs are competing. Next matches are scheduled April 16, with Stumptown Athletic vs. Detroit City FC at noon, San Diego 1904 FC vs. Maryland Bobcats FC at 5 p.m. and Chattanooga FC vs. New Amsterdam FC at 8 p.m. Matches resume April 19, with Los Angeles Force vs. New Amsterdam FC at noon, California United Strikers FC vs. Stumptown Athletic at 5 p.m. and Maryland Bobcats FC vs. Michigan Stars FC at 8 p.m. Play continues through April 25. › Bike ride, brews, music: Adam and Kamrie McAnulty, owners of electric bike shop Pedego Chattanooga, 157 River St., will host a customer appreciation event at noon April 16. After a meetand-greet, attendees can take part in a group Pedego ride on the Tennessee Riverwalk toward St. Elmo and Lookout Mountain. › The Caverns, 555 Charlie Roberts Road in Pelham, Tennessee, hosts a Grateful Dead cover band and a band fronted by a bluegrass legend this weekend. Dark Star Orchestra, named for an early Dead classic, will play April 16-17; tickets are $70-$90. The Del McCoury Band will play April 18, with Sierra Hull opening; tickets are $60-$80. › Bob’s Bootcamp: Chattanooga Symphony & Opera’s principal Pops conductor Bob Bernhardt will offer his take on the life and works of Italian composer Ennio Morricone in a virtual program available April 17. › Wildflower Walk: With the 11 a.m. outing sold out, the Chattanooga Audubon Society has added a 2 p.m. walk to learn about the spring wildflowers in bloom on the property. Courtney Alley will lead the easy, 2-mile walk on established trails. Cost is $10 for nonmembers. › 4 Bridges Arts Festival returns as a live event April 17-18. Nationally ranked as a Top 20 fine arts festival, the juried show showcases the talents of 120 artists from across the country and offers more than $20,000 in cash awards. This year’s festival will feature the artists selected by the 2020 jury panel after last year’s live event was canceled because of the pandemic. Hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. both days at First Horizon Pavilion, 1826 Reggie White Blvd. There is a $5 entry fee for adults, payable at the gate. If you want first dibs, a preview party, featuring gourmet hors d’oeuvres and adult beverages, is scheduled from 6-10 p.m. April 16. Tickets are $100 via Eventbrite.com.
› Wavelength Space, a new, contemporary, artist-run gallery at 854 McCallie Ave., will open its second show on April 17. “Residual Dwelling,” examining the meaning of home and featuring artists from Oregon (Rachael Zur), Texas (Laura Drey) and Chattanooga (Raquel Mullins and Victoria Sauer), will run through May 14. Mullins, who is also the director and curator, said the gallery’s themed shows are meant to provide “thought-provoking encounters with a diverse array of contemporary art in a range of affordable options for new and experienced collectors.” The gallery is open by appointment via Instagram. › String Theory: The second installment of String Theory @ Home, a virtual performance, is set for 6:30 p.m. April 13, following a Backstage Pass at 6 p.m. to visit with the artists. The allstar ensemble features violinist Jennifer Frautschi, violist Paul Neubauer and cellist Edward Arron performing Schubert’s String Trio in B-flat Major. Then bassist Thomas Van Dyck and pianist Gloria Chien, the series’ artistic director, join them to perform Schubert’s “The Trout” quintet. There is no fee to view. The performance may be accessed via string theorymusic.org, Facebook and YouTube. It will be broadcast on WTCI-TV Channel 45 at 4 p.m. April 25 and on WSMC 90.5 FM at 4 p.m. May 2.
› 3X2 concert: The next installment in the Northshore Karass Performing Arts Series takes place at 7 p.m. April 20 in the riverfront lobby at Chattanooga Theatre Centre, 400 River St. Three members of the acclaimed Figment Chamber Ensemble — Gordon Inman on clarinet, Charlie Edholm on guitar and Ben Van Winkle on cello — will feature a newly commissioned piece by Chattanooga composer Matthew Weaver for the clarinet and guzheng, a traditional Chinese stringed instrument, emulating Appalachian sounds. › Wednesday Jazz Online: Barking Legs Theater will fill its next virtual broadcast with the public debut of Chattanooga’s newest jazz band, the 26-member Premier Jazz Orchestra.
