Betty Totherow

Betty J. Totherow, 85, of Sale Creek, formerly of Hixson, died surrounded by family on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 after suffering severe injuries from a vehicle accident.

She was born on August 19, 1935 in Chattanooga, TN and was a devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. On May 27, 1961 she married the love of her life, William C. “Bill” Totherow Sr. They were married for 47 years and built a beautiful life together. A devout Christian, Betty loved going to church and reading her bible daily. She was committed to ensuring her family and friends were also followers of Jesus. She enjoyed being onthe-go and always wanted to be surrounded by her loved ones.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, William C. “Bill” Totherow Sr., daughter, Beverly Gail Totherow and son, Aaron Carl Totherow.

She is survived by children, June Franklin, Donna (Bob) Banks, Bill Hindmon, William Calvin (Mary) Totherow, Jr., Joe (Lisa) Totherow, Jon (April) Totherow; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Ann Graybeal; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 2, 2021 from 1:00-7:00 p.m. at North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, May 3, 2021 at North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Highway 153, Hixson, TN.
