Richard Napier
CHICKAMAUGA - Richard “Rick” Oden Napier age 81, passed away Friday - April 23, 2021. He was born in Morganton, Kentucky to the late Carlie and Pearl Cruinley Napier. He was a lifelong resident of the Northwest Georgia area. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1962 and was a proud veteran. He was the former owner and operator of Rick’s Lock & Key in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was a member of the American Locksmith Association of America and received The Best of The Best Locksmith eight years in a row. He was a fait ful member of Old Fort Baptist Church in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. He had served as choir director at Shiloh Baptist Church in Rossville, CA and Jones Memorial Baptist Church in East Ridge, TN. Rick enjoyed fishing and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: Roy E. “Buster” Carroll, Harl Patric “Pat” Napier and son-in-law: Lee Scanlon. He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years: Sandra “Sandy” Edwards Napier of Chickamauga, GA, daughters: Selena Scanlon of Springfield, MO, Becky (Paul) Farmer of Hixson, TN, Connie (Randy) Coleman of Chickamauga, GA, sister: Catherine Seiler of Rossville, GA, brothers: Donny Riebe of Hendersonville, NV, Bobby “Bubba” (Ann) Persinger of Rossville, GA, sisters-in-law: Juanita Carrol of Hixson, TN, Jean Napier of Chickamauga, GA, three grandchildren: Shawn Priebe of Little Rock, AR, Ashley Carlson of Buffalo, MO, Wes Coleman of Chickamauga, GA, six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday at the funeral home and Tuesday morning from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the church prior to the service. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am – Tuesday May 4, 2021 at Old Fort Baptis: Church in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia with Pastor Paul Taylor and Phil Shellabarger officiating.
