Mildred Traffanstedt

Mildred Y. Traffanstedt, of Hixson, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 10, 2021 at her home after a 8 year battle with cancer.

Mildred was born in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee and lived the majority of her life in Hixson, Tennessee. Mildred was a loyal loving wife and mother who will be immensely missed. She was a graduate of Soddy Daisy High School and worked 40 years at Coors Ceramic. She helped inspect parts of the Hubble Telescope.

Mildred was a devout Christian who served the Lord her entire life. Mildred loved animals, hummingbirds, plants and cookbooks. Mildred was also a wonderful seamstress.

Her husband, Willie Traffanstedt, parents, Henry & Myna Yates, sister, Alma Mitchell preceded her in death as well as two of her stepchildren, Jerry (Debra) and Paul.

Survivors include her only child, Michael J. (Cindy) Traffanstedt; and four beloved stepchildren, Willie Gene (Betty), Betty (Bobby), Angie & Sharon; as well as her grandchildren, Carmen, Jana, Keisha, John, Rick, Ted, Angel & Chance, great grandson, Luca, and great granddaughter, Sophia, nephew, Gary (Anita).

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, May 14, 2021 at Hamilton Memorial Gardens 5351 Highway 153, Hixson with Chaplain Matthew Rickman officiating.

Visitation will be held at the gravesite at Hamilton Memorial Gardens from 2:30 – 3:00 P.M. Prior to the graveside services on Friday.
