Mildred Virginia Worley, 83, a resident of Georgetown, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at a healthcare facility. Ms. Worley retired from Kroger, and had lived in this area most of her life. She loved going on mountain and car rides, and in her pastime she enjoyed reading. “Mama Worley”, as she was called by many, ensured no one went hungry at her house, that was known as “Birchwood Kitchen”. She never turned anyone away, and the love and meals she shared will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Sims; mother, Lela Elrod; step-father, Homer Elrod; loving husband, Jimmy Worley; sons, Gary Worley, Timmy Worley, and Jeff Worley; infant granddaugh­ter, Angela Worley; infant grandson, Quinton Worley; sister, Emmeline Gibson; and brother, Earl Sims.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Patricia Worley of Birchwood; granddaugh­ters, Nikka Moates and husband, John, Starla Flowers; grandson, Isaac Worley; great-grandsons, Cole Flowers, Zebb Stuart, and Liam Stuart; great-granddaugh­ter, Zoie Flowers; great-greatgrand­son, Waylon Flowers; “adopted son”, Doug Rhoades; “adopted grandson”, Daniel Rhoades; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebratio­n of her life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 with Pastor Cody Clay officiatin­g. Interment will follow at Meigs County Memorial Gardens with John Moates, Doug Rhoades, Daniel Rhoades, Cole Flowers, Michael Davis, and Corey Pauley serving as pallbearer­s. A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
