CLEVELAND ² Mary Elise Putman Sellers, 93, passed away peacefully, surrounded with her family close beside her, on Thursday, May 13, 2021, into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after an extended illness. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmothe­r, Great-Grandmothe­r, Aunt, Great Aunt, Sister, friend, and mentor to all her beloved family. Her husband Ron’s tribute to his wife of 75 years is from Proverbs 31, verses 10, 26-27: “Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies.” “She opens her mouth with wisdom and the teachings of kindness is on her tongue. She looks to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.” She was preceded in death by her Mother Ida Estelle Putman and father Billie P. Putman, Lawrencebu­rg, TN; brother James (Bud) Putman (Shirley), Lawrencebu­rg, TN; sisters: Clara Putman Dotson (Chester), Franklin, TN; Lois Putman Flannigan (Andy.) Florence Al; Christine Putman Swafford, Nashville, TN; and Loucille Putman, Lawrencebu­rg, TN; niece Margaret Putman Callahan, nephew Jack Putman; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws Melvin (Elsie) Sellers, Franklin, TN, L.C. Greene; and Dorothy (Alex) Ferrell, Nashville, TN. She is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Vance Sellers, Sr. of Cleveland, TN, and five children: Linda Susan Sellers Arp (Bennie), Knoxville, TN; Ronald V. Sellers Jr. (Martha), Columbia, TN; Randy Sellers (Heather Walker) Cleveland, TN; E. A native of Lawrencebu­rg, TN, she was a 9 graduate of Lawrence County High School, and 9 graduate of Nashville %usiness College. She was an active and devoted member of First Presbyteri­an Church of Cleveland. Elise dearly loved her family & friends - entertaini­ng, baking & preparing sumptuous meals for all on every birthday, holiday and other special occasion. She remembered & sent birthday and anniversar­y cards to every family member & never missed a one. Her hobbies include caring for her beautiful flower gardens; painting still-life and landscape scenes, antiquing, and going to estate auctions & collecting beautiful glassware & china that she has shared with our family members over the years.

The family gives special thanks to her dedicated caregivers .im Rogers, Serita Wells, Wanda Allen & 'enise Satterfiel­d for their sweet care and love they have given her & our family over these past several months of her illness and for the Caris Healthcare Hospice team of nurses & staff.

The family will hold a private family internment service at Chattanoog­a National Cemetery in Chattanoog­a TN on Thursday, May 15th , at 2 p.m. A Celebratio­n of Life Service will be held at First Presbyteri­an Church of Cleveland on Thursday, May 27, 2021 , with receiving of friends from to :3 p.m. followed by the Memorial Service at :3 p.m.
