Troy Buford Blevins was born in Long Island, Alabama on July 11, 1942. Troy attend ed school in South Pittsburg, Tennessee and gradu ated from South Pitts burg High School. It was here that his entrepre neurial spir it began to emerge, as Troy found ways to help sup port himself, such as earning tips carrying bags at the local grocery store. Following high school, Troy earned a bach elor’s degree from Middle Tennessee State 8niversity. Troy went on to attend phar macy school at the 8niversity of Memphis. :hile in school at Memphis, Troy was married to Judy Graham in 1966, and they lived in Memphis until Troy’s graduation. Following graduation, Troy accepted a position in Byrdstown, Ten nessee, where he served as the small town’s only pharmacist. In 1969, Troy and Judy moved to Jasper, Tennessee, where Troy went to work for a local pharmacy. Troy and Judy had their first child, Chris, in 1970, followed by sons Stephen (1972) and Mark (1976).

In the early 1970’s Troy opened his own store, Blevins Pharmacy. He was well known in the community for always being willing to open up the store after hours to help someone in need get their medication­s. In addition to the pharmacy, Troy was al ways active with other busi ness interests, including real estate, banking, and the South Pittsburg Hospital’s in house pharmacy.

In 1984, following his completion of a rehabilita tion program, Troy began a second career as a substance abuse consultant with CADAS and later with Buffalo Valley. 2ver the next 15 years, he assisted countless people by helping them overcome their addictions and improve their lives.

In 1991, Troy married Connie Dean, and they resid ed in Lewisburg, Tennessee and Birmingham, Alabama, before moving to Cleveland, Tennessee in 2000. Troy re sumed his pharmacy career until his retirement in 2013. Troy spent the remainder of his time feeding his birds and loving his dog, Buddy. Troy and Connie spent 30 wonder ful years together.

Troy was predecease­d by his parents, Nell and Eli Blevins. He is survived by his loving wife Connie, his sons Chris, Stephen (Michelle), Mark (Trish) and their mother Judy, granddaugh­ters Taylor and Gracie, stepdaught­er Tee na Gandy (Matt), step grand sons Nathan, Jordan, Kody, and 5 step grandchild­ren.

Family will be receiving friends Monday, November 22, 2021 at Serenity of Cleve land from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverends Gary Sears and Paul Lee officiatin­g. Interment will immediatel­y follow at New Hope Cemetery in South Pittsburg, TN. In lieu of flowers please send dona tions to CADAS Rehab 207 Spears Ave. Chattanoog­a, TN 37405.
