ROSSVILLE - John “Bobby” McDonald, 73, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 26, 2022. Bobby was a lifelong resident of Rossville where he attended Rossville High School. He had worked at Van Heusen and the Chattanoog­a Free Press for several years and retired as a Ringgold Rural Letter Carrier with The United States Postal Service in 2017 with over 30 years of service. Bobby was a member of the Printer’s Union and the Rural Letter Carrier’s Union. He attended Peavine Baptist Church Rossville Campus and he was on the upcoming ballot for Walker County Board of Commission­ers District one. Bobby loved his wife and family dearly, he enjoyed to read, and he liked working with his hands.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Maxine McDonald; sister, Sue Forrister; brother, Bill McDonald; and half-sister, Robyn McDonald.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Connie Couch McDonald; “sister”, Frankie McKay Long (David); two half-sisters, Rhonda Culp (Robert) and Angie McDonald (Rodney); special great nephew, Jaden; and many other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 4:00p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Pastors Luke McKay and Corbin Kinsey officiatin­g.

Entombment will be at the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1-4p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville, GA.
