William Carl “Bill the Thrill” Barker

-

William Carl Barker (“Bill the Thrill”) passed away peacefully on December 31, 2022 at the age of 65 from a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Bill was born on January 1, 1957 in Waurika, Okla. to his parents, Carl and Billie Barker.

After completing his education at Tecumseh High School, Bill went to work as an Equipment Operator for The Western Company of North America in Mineral Wells, Texas. Bill worked his way through the ranks of various oil and gas companies. His charisma and determination eventually landed him as part owner of FracTech Services in Fort Worth, Texas until he retired in 2011. Bill was also a faithful member of Redemption to the Nations Church in Chattanooga, Tenn where he served on the Board of Trustees.

One of his favorite scripture was Luke 6:38 and he put it to use in his everyday life. “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure it shall be measured unto you again. ”He lived his life in complete surrender to the will of God and BELIEVED in sowing time and money to help those in need. He learned to listen to God and to give extravagantly. Bill had many things, but things never had him. He loved God, his family and he loved people. He made big moves in the Kingdom and never once questioned or doubted when or what God spoke. He was obedient until the end. Well done, poppy, mission complete.

The family will be having a Celebration of Life service at Redemption to the Nations Church [1908 Bailey Avenue] in Chattanooga, TN on January 27th @ 2 p.m. The Service is open to any who wish to attend and pay their respects. In lieu of flowers, Bill had asked before his passing that donations be made to the Redemption to the Nations School (The Ark Academy). https://rttn.church/bill-barkermemorial-fund
