RINGGOLD - Charles Michael Farmer, 60, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, January 19, 2023 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Farmer was a native of LaFayette and was a son of Charles Emory Farmer and the late Gloria Jean Davis Farmer.

Mike was retired from Shaw Industries as a Truck Driver for 38 years and owned Mike’s Lawn Care Service for 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his mother Gloria Jean Davis Farmer, sister Kathy Denise Farmer Fitzgerald, and brother-in-law Rickey Cope; grandparen­ts. Special thanks to Linda Ware for choosing to give Mike life.

Survivors include his loving wife of 15 years, Donna Sparks Farmer, father Charles Emory Farmer, children, Stephanie (Daniel) Walker, and Jessica (Shane) Roberts, Dr. Robb Hutcherson, Jr. (Dr. Lora Hutcherson), Josh Hutcherson, brothers-in-law Johnny Young, Johnny (Karen) Cope, and John Wayne (Cindy) Sparks, sister, Pamela (Benny) Fitzgerald, sisters-in-law Debbie (Jimmy) Dickerson and Gail Kilgore; grandchild­ren, Briley, Presley Rose, Emerson, John Robert, Jesse Michael, Malachi, Rhett, Jaxon, Ridley, and Millie June; several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Jim Chasteen and Bro. Bradley Battles officiatin­g.

Willie P. Smith

LAFAYETTE - Willie P. Smith, age 82, went to be with her Lord Wednesday, January 18, 2023. She was a member of Grace Baptist Tabernacle in Rock Spring and loved to read.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Larry” Smith; and parents, William and Elowease Pickett.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sister, Royce Deakins (Don); nephew, Chad Deakins; and great nieces, Brooke, Cassie (Konrad), Kara and Chalee.

A Graveside Service will be held 12:30pm Tuesday, January 24, 2024 at Chattanoog­a National Cemetery.
