RINGGOLD - Roddy Joseph Hayes Clark, 76, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023.

Roddy was the youngest of two children of Joe and Ruth Clark. He was born in Ringgold, GA on May 5, 1946. He met his wife, Sara Clark, in 1964 at Mercer University. They married on September 14, 1969 surrounded by friends and family. In 1973, Roddy and Sara had their first child, Amanda. Nine years later, they welcomed their second child, Taylor.

Roddy had a long career in the medical device industry. For over 20 years, Roddy was a venture capitalist manager in Birmingham, AL. He had a passion for helping people and working in his garden. Roddy was a thoughtful son, a caring husband, a loving father and a grandfathe­r who loved to get down on the floor and play with his grandchild­ren.

He is survived by his wife, Sara Clark, his brother, Bill Clark (Kaye Clark), his children Amanda Clark (David Mann) and Taylor Clark (Christi Clark) and his four grandchild­ren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday at First Baptist Church Ringgold with Pastor Eric Kennedy officiatin­g. The body will lie-in-state an hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Anderson Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Ringgold or the Smith-Clark Endowed Scholarshi­p Fund (Mercer Advancemen­t, 1501 Mercer University Drive, Macon, GA 31207).

The family will receive friends 4-8 PM Friday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefiel­d Parkway.
