Dolores grew up in Hyde Park, New York until the family moved to Chattanooga in 1944. Some of her memories of Hyde Park were riding her bicycle on the Roosevelt and Vanderbilt Mansion properties until the Secret Service thought it wasn’t a good idea to be riding on the property of President Roosevelt at that time.

She worked at Chattanooga Box Factory, briefly in the insurance business and as a legal secretary for the law firm of Summers, Hargraves, McCray, and Wyatt. In 1985 she became a 35 year volunteer at Giant Steps Music until her retirement in 2020. She was a member of the Chattanooga Legal Secretary’s Association, Past President and Secretary of the Chattanooga Chapter of the Holiday Rambler Club. She is a 70 year member of the Eastern Star (Betsy Ross Chapter). Dolores and Bob were avid travelers for nearly 30 years having traveled to 30 states, Canada and Mexico.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Bauer; father, William H. Snedeker; and mother, Vivian P. Snedeker.
She is survived by her son, ihl ( l) Michael Bauer (Darleen); daughter, Susan Bailey (Bob); three grandsons, Charley (Mandy), Andy (Michelle), and Corey (Lauren); great-grandchildren, Noah, Kendal, and Olivia; her remaining cousins; and her pet cat, Zsa Zsa.
