Reality TV star again arrested in Hamilton County
Ryan Edwards, known for his role in MTV’s “Teen Mom,” has been arrested and charged with stalking and violation of an order of protection, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
It was his second arrest in less than a month. More details on the charges were not immediately available.
Edwards, 35, was arrested Feb. 10 after allegedly violating the order of protection when his wife, Mackenzie Edwards, told deputies “her husband had posted revealing photos of her to his Instagram account,” according to a February news release from the Sheriff’s Office. He was out on a $55,000 bond when he was arrested again Wednesday.
He was booked into Silverdale on Feb. 10 on “harassment (warrant), possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance,” according to the February release.
Ryan Edwards and Mackenzie Edwards, who share three children, ended their relationship after six years, with Mackenzie Edwards filing for divorce and asking for a restraining order, according to the February news release.
Edwards was served with an order of protection by deputies “ordering him to immediately vacate a residence where his wife, Mackenzie Edwards, was currently living,” the day before, the February release said.
Mackenzie Edwards told deputies Feb. 8 that she had a “history of domestic violence issues involving Mr. Edwards,” according to a sworn affidavit seeking Edwards’ arrest. “Despite the violent history” and because they share children together, Mackenzie Edwards answered the phone when Edwards called her, according to the affidavit.
During the phone call detailed in the affidavit, Ryan Edwards allegedly threatened Mackenzie Edwards.
“… I guess you didn’t hear me, what’s going to happen to you is gonna be ugly,” Ryan Edwards told Mackenzie Edwards, according to the affidavit.
Ryan Edwards and Mackenzie Edwards appeared in the MTV show “Teen Mom,” which follows the relationships of teenage mothers for several years.
Edwards is due to appear before Hamilton County General Sessions Court Judge Lila Statom on March 6, for the violation of order of protection and stalking charges, and before Judge Gary Starnes on March 30 on the harassment, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of controlled substance charges.
