Sin has afflicted all of God’s creation

- From the writings of the Rev. Billy Graham.

Q: Some Christian scientists are calling into question the literal seven-day creation by God, claiming that whether we believe part of evolution has nothing to do with salvation. Isn’t this unbiblical and dangerous especially to a younger generation? Isn’t the entire issue of creation directly connected to why Jesus Christ came to this earth — to forgive sin, conquer death, and offer salvation which leads to eternal life in Heaven? - S.A.

A: God created Adam and Eve in His perfect image and were to remain perfect human specimens. But Satan ruined these two divine masterpieces, and as a result of their decision to disobey God, sin, sickness, and death entered paradise. So, human sin was the first cause of sickness and death. Since that moment in the Garden of Eden, pain and death have been the heritage of the entire human race. Sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned (see Romans 5:12).

Sin has afflicted all of God’s creation, including the natural world, and

only when Christ comes in His glory at the end of the present era will sin be eradicated and creation be restored to God’s original plan.

When people look to science, education, and social and moral programs as possible solutions to the problems in an insane world, chaos follows.

The greatest influence parents can have in their children’s lives is to point them to Almighty God and His unfailing Word. God instructed parents to hear His words so that they may teach them to their children (see Deuteronomy 4:10).

Much of the world in search of knowledge and fulfillment ignores God and what the Bible says. It is the absence of the knowledge of God and man’s refusal to obey Him that lie at the root of every problem that besets us.
