FAGGART, Richard L. 94, of Bradley County, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2023, after a long and happy life.

Mr. Faggart was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Wright Faggart in 2013; his sister Rosalie Faggart Syrop, and his brother; William Donald Faggart.

He is survived by his nieces, Evelyn S. Jonas and her husband Richard K. Jonas, Dr. Lisa L. Syrop and her husband, Dr. Barry L. Kurzer, and nephew, Dr. Craig H. Syrop and his wife, Dr. Anne Sadler, great nephews Kevin C. Jonas and his wife Blair B. Jonas and children Autumn Jonas and Charlie Jonas, and Jacob M. Kurzer, and; great niece Wendy J. Imura, and her husband, Yusuke Imura and sons, Taiga Imura and Raigo Imura.

He was a loving and caring uncle who was a source of great joy to many generation­s of his family.

Richard was born in Mecklenbur­g, North Carolina. After graduation from high school, he entered Air Force schools in Denver, Colorado and St. Louis, Missouri. He served on active duty in the United States Air Force in Tokyo, Japan, South Korea, and Maine. He received numerous awards and concluded six years of service as a sergeant major. After his Air Force duty, Richard entered Elon College and graduated with a double major in math and business.

Richard enjoyed a highly successful career in the textile industry. His career started in textile design with an emphasis on drapery and upholstery. He was promoted to Vice President of Design responsibl­e for teams of designers in Hazelton, Pennsylvan­ia and Rossville, Georgia.

After successful accomplish­ments in the USA market, he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Design for internatio­nal marketing customers with travels in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Belgium, England, Australia, New Zealand, and other countries. This was a new division for his company and was very successful.

Years after his time in the Air Force, Richard became a licensed pilot, where he met the love of his life, Elaine Wright and their great friends, Lisa Bates, and her husband Brad Cosgrove.

A Celebratio­n of Life will be held Friday, October 27, 2023, at 11:00 A.M., Heritage Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Chattanoog­a National Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and Friday from 10:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Heritage Funeral Home.
