Ardeth West

RINGGOLD - Ardeth H. West, age 84, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, October 23, 2023.

She was born August 24, 1939 in Sandersville, Georgia to the late Lottie Garrett Hodges.

She attended Berry College then met her husband, Jack West, during summer session at Georgia Southern University. She worked in several secretarial and data entry positions for various employers including Kelly Girls and Memorial Hospital until taking a position in the records department of Tennessee Valley Authority. She retired from TVA in 2000. She was a charter member at Covenant Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed helping with children’s classes on Wednesday nights, crafts during the annual children’s music camp and in the kitchen. She learned sewing and crocheting as a young girl and used those skills to bless others throughout her life. She was also a Master Gardner. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Her husband of 61 years, Jack, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Andy (Kelly) West, Michelle (Paul) Parker, and Dawn (Eric) Reynolds; 9 grandchildren; and 2 greatgrandsons.

The family will receive friends Friday, November 3, 2023 from 5-7 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church (8451 East Brainerd Rd., Chattanooga, TN 37421)

Funeral service will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Render Caines officiating.

Private Interment will be at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
