Hamilton Place mall named test location for website

Hamilton Place mall is serving as a test site to offer shoppers online access to all the products carried by more than 100 retailers at the shopping center at one website, company officials said Wednesday.

Called Inventory Insider, mall owner CBL Properties is partnering with a technology company to provide the product informatio­n for the stores at a single centralize­d location on the Hamilton Place website.

The Chattanoog­a mall and CoolSpring­s Galleria in Nashville are the first shopping centers in CBL’s portfolio nationally to test the concept, said Stacey Keating, the company’s vice president of corporate communicat­ions.

“It will be a yearlong pilot with them, and we’ll determine if it’s something that’s feasible to expand in other properties,” she said by phone.

A total of 101 retailers will roll out Inventory Insider in phases at Hamilton Place, Keating said. Phase one, which launched Tuesday, included 79 retailers, and phase two will add 22, she said.

Keating said all the anchor stores are included and it’s likely even more of the mall’s retailers will be added.

CBL partnered with Adeptmind, a technology company specializi­ng in artificial intelligen­ce and e-commerce.

Stephen Lebovitz, CBL’s chief executive officer, said the way people shop has changed significan­tly during the past several years with advanced research on local product availabili­ty being a key part of the shopping experience.

“Inventory Insider enables us to add this capability to our websites and gives our customers a seamless way to browse,” he said in a statement.

Keating said Hamilton Place and CoolSpring­s were picked

because they’re two of CBL’s top centers and there’s a high percent of retail inventorie­s available through the platform.

Included in Inventory Insider, available on the mall’s website by clicking on “Products,” are item pricing, sizes and product informatio­n, Keating said.

G Wu, chief executive officer and cofounder of Adeptmind, said the company will boost the online visibility of the two CBL properties, making retailer products easily discoverab­le for the customer base and positively affecting the overall consumer experience.

“The Adeptmind team is very enthusiast­ic about supporting the dynamic properties of CBL,” he said in a statement.

CBL’s owned and managed portfolio has 94 properties in 22 states, including 56 enclosed malls, outlet centers and lifestyle retail centers as well as more than 30 open-air centers and other assets.
