3 women shot, 1 fatally in Avalon Park

A 33-year-old woman was shot and killed and two others were wounded Saturday in Avalon Park on the South Side.

The women were standing in the street with a group of people about 9:40 p.m. in the 8000 block of South Woodlawn Avenue when the shots were fired, Chicago police said.

The woman who was killed was shot in the chest. The other two women, both 28, were in fair condition, according to police.
