Kickoff switched to 3:25 p.m.
The Bears’ home game Sunday against the Colts was moved from noon to 3:25 p.m.
The decision was made to fill the CBS TV vacancy left after the NFL decided to postpone the game between the Chiefs and Patriots. Each team had a positive coronavirus test announced Saturday — the Patriots, reportedly, had quarterback Cam Newton test positive.
The shift gives the Bears even less time between the end of Sunday’s game and their matchup Thursday night against the Buccaneers.
Bray up
The Bears promoted third-string quarterback Tyler Bray from the practice squad. But sources said the move didn’t portend any change in status for starter Nick Foles and backup Mitch Trubisky, who remain healthy. Bray figures to be inactive Sunday. New rules allow teams to call up two practicesquad players each Sunday without having to create roster room.
This and that
The Colts activated former Bears tight end Trey Burton off injured reserve in time to face his old team. He practiced all week with the Colts after hurting his calf Aug. 29.
Burton missed the Bears’ January 2019 playoff game against another former team, the Eagles, with a groin injury. He was limited to 14 catches for 84 yards with a similar injury last year.
When he signed with the Colts days after the Bears cut him in April, he claimed he was misdiagnosed in Chicago.
† The NFL fined Bears defensive linemen Akiem Hicks and Mario
Edwards for their roughing-thepasser penalties against Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan last week. Hicks, who said he could live with the penalty but believes fans want to see quarterbacks get hit, was fined $15,000. Edwards’ fine was $9,412.
