4 wounded after shooter opens fire on crowd in Jackson Park
Four people were wounded when a shooter opened fire Saturday on a crowd gathered in Jackson Park on the South Side.
About 1:20 a.m., someone fired shots into the gathering in the 1600 block of East Hayes Drive, Chicago police said.
A 19-year-old man was struck in the right arm and listed in fair condition, police said. A woman, 52, was shot in the face area and another woman, 20, suffered a gunshot wound to the left leg. Both women were also listed in fair condition.
A male, whose age was unknown, suffered a gunshot wound to the right leg and was listed in serious condition, police said.
All four victims were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center for treatment.

Police: Man charged with kicking down girlfriend’s door and shooting her
Charges have been filed against a man who broke into his girlfriend’s West Humboldt Park home last November and shot her in the abdomen, police said.
Tristan Medley, 36, kicked down a door in the 4300 block of West Thomas Street and shot the woman around 10 p.m. on Nov. 1, Chicago police said.
The couple had been arguing before the shooting, police said. The woman, 28, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition at the time.
Medley was arrested Wednesday and charged with home invasion and aggravated battery with a weapon, police said.

3 critically injured in Austin shooting
Three people were in critical condition following a shooting Saturday morning in Austin on the West Side, according to police.
The group was standing outside about 3:50 a.m. in the 1300 block of North Massasoit Avenue when a male approached on foot and fired shots, Chicago police said.
A 29-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was in critical condition, police said. Another woman, 56, was struck in the back, and a man, 30, suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the legs, police said. Both were in critical condition. There was no one immediately in custody.

Man charged with fatal shooting during fight in West Pullman
A man has been charged with fatally shooting another man during a fight in May in West Pullman on the Far South Side.
Larry Scott, 32, faces one count of firstdegree murder in the shooting death of 37-year-old Travis Willis, Chicago police said.
The night of May 1, Willis was standing outside with a group of people in the 11800 block of South Lafayette Avenue when he began arguing with another man, according to police.
The two started fighting and Scott shot Willis once in the head and fled, police said.
Scott was extradited from Minneapolis and taken into custody Wednesday at O’Hare Airport.

Man shot in Pilsen
A 30-year-old man was shot Saturday in Pilsen on the Near West Side. About 5 a.m., he was in the 3000 block of South Ashland Avenue, when someone he knew approached him and fired shots, Chicago police said. He was struck in the hip and taken to Stroger Hospital where he is in good condition, police said.

Woman shot in Avondale
A 24-year-old woman was shot Saturday in Avondale on the Northwest Side. About 4:15 a.m., she was inside a vehicle in the 3600 block of North California Avenue, when someone inside the vehicle fired shots at her striking her in the back, Chicago police said.
