Stanley Francis Bertoni, age 77, a resident of Huntley, IL and formerly long-time of Chicago’s southside, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2023 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL. He was born on February 25, 1945 in Chicago. Stanley is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Rosemarie Bertoni (nee Hanzlik); his loving son, Stan (Gail) Bertoni; his cherished grandsons, Brian and Brandon Bertoni; his dear brother, Rich (Marie) Bertoni; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Helen Bertoni. Stanley was a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School , Chicago, where he was a multiple sport athlete. He also played on multiple C.Y.O city softball championsh­ip teams. He enjoyed refereeing high school and park district basketball as well as umpiring 16in softball throughout the Chicagolan­d area for many years. Throughout his life he selflessly gave of his time and talents to children and encouraged them to be the best they could be. He retired from School District #64-Park Ridge after many years as a custodian. Funeral Services will follow at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. A private family interment will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park, IL.
