Leah Eisenstein & Dustin Rosenfeld

Many Jewish weddings feature a horah — the traditional Israeli folk dance in which the bride and groom are hoisted up on chairs by guests. But rarely is the ritual so energetic that a chair leg breaks, as it did at the wedding of Leah Eisenstein and Dustin Rosen

feld. “That was one of our most hilarious moments,” laughs Eisenstein.

The couple — who met in fall 2009 and spent their first date watching a Bears game with their dogs — tied the knot Oct. 12 at the Armour House at Lake Forest Academy, surrounded by 240 friends and family members. For her wedding to Rosenfeld, a medical sales representative for Midmark Corporation, Eisenstein, a senior account supervisor at Zeno Group and event-planning veteran, had a clear-cut vision, and she enlisted Samantha Goldberg to help execute a warm vibe replete with personal touches.

Eisenstein walked down an aisle covered in 20,000 rose petals, and the couple exchanged vows under a softly lit chuppah. At the reception, guests snacked on custom “R” cookies from Leonard’s Bakery in Northbrook (owned by Eisenstein’s uncle), sipped a signature cocktail dubbed the “Mel-onade” in honor of the friend who introduced the couple, then dug into Chinese food during cocktail hour and Lou Malnati’s late-night — both favorites of the groom. Eisenstein’s dad continued a family tradition by toasting to the couple with a bottle of aged whiskey he had purchased on the day she was born. After, guests danced late into the night, with the Gold Coast All

Stars providing the soundtrack. “We were glowing,” says Eisenstein. “It was the most perfect day.”
