Prosinski steps up with career game
Antrel Rolle injured the MCL in his knee on the final play of practice two Fridays ago.
Chris Prosinski was ready. “If a guy’s nicked up,” he said Monday at Halas Hall, “I’m ready to step in there.”
The safety, brought in to shore up the special teams in Week 4, recorded nine tackles and forced a fumble by Eddie Lacy. His secondconsecutive start was perhaps his best career game.
“I’ve been in situations where I’ve been the backup and been thrown into the game,” he said. “So I’m always going to be prepared.”
Bushrod back
Jermon Bushrod played 11 snaps as an eligible tackle Thursday, his first playing time since Week 3. He called his benching “probably the toughest thing I had to deal with in my career” but felt good about contributing.
“When I was out there and we scored [on Jeremy Langford’s run], I was like a little kid running around,” he said.
This and that
Growing inconsistency on field goals and extra points prompted the Bears to release snapper Thomas Gafford and sign Patrick Scales on Saturday, Fox said. The coach praised Gafford’s character but said the Bears “struggled over the last three weeks a little bit in our consistency.”
◆ With practice-squad center Barrett Jones claimed by the Eagles, the Bears added center Cornelius Edison to the unit.
