THIS WEEKEND’S WILD-CARD GAMES

- By Mark Potash. Best bet in bold

CHIEFS AT TEXANS

Time: 3:35 p.m. Sat., Ch. 7/ESPN. Line: Chiefs by 3 ½ . Total: 45 ½ .

Records (overall/ATS): Chiefs 11-5/8-8; Texans 9-7/9-7.

Outlook: Chiefs have won 10 straight after a 1-5 start, but were 1-3 ATS in their last four games. They beat the Texans 27-20 in Week 1, but neither Arian Foster nor Jamaal Charles will play in this one. The Texans have some momentum of their own— 7-2 SU/ATS after a 2-5 start. And they have the most dominant defensive player in the game on a roll— J.J. Watt finished with 17.5 sacks, including 12.5 in his last 10 games. Mark Potash’s pick: Chiefs, 17-14.

Marc Silverman’s pick: Texans. Mike North’s pick: Texans.

STEELERS AT BENGALS

Time: 7:15 p.m. Sat., Ch. 2. Line: Steelers by 3. Total: 45 ½ .

Records (overall/ATS): Steelers 10-6/9-6-1; Bengals 12-4/12-3-1.

Outlook: After a terrific regular season, the Bengals face a daunting challenge in the playoffs: Not only the burden of Marvin Lewis’ 0-6 record in the postseason— including losses each of the past four years — and Andy Dalton questionable with a thumb injury, but a Steelers team primed for a playoff run. AJ McCarron, though, had a 100.1 rating in three starts (4 TDs, 0 INTs) and is used to playing in pressure games. Potash’s pick: Bengals, 24-21.

Silverman’s pick: Steelers. North’s pick: Steelers.

SEAHAWKS AT VIKINGS

Time: Noon Sun., Ch. 5.

Line: Seahawks by 5. Total: 39 ½ . Records (overall/ATS): Seahawks 10-6/8-7-1; Vikings 11-5/13-3.

Outlook: Home field seems to be the only advantage the Vikings have and with single-digit temperatures predicted, even that might favor the Seahawks, who have been sharp in the playoffs. The Seahawks have won six of their last seven— averaging 34.5 points in the wins— including a 38-7 rout of the Vikings at TCF Bank Stadium on Dec. 6. The Vikings are well coached by Mike Zimmer, but it’s hard to go against Pete Carroll here. Potash’s pick: SEAHAWKS, 23-13. Silverman’s pick: SEAHAWKS. North’s pick: SEAHAWKS.

PACKERS AT REDSKINS

Time: 3:40 p.m. Sun., Fox-32. Line: Packers by 1. Total: 45 ½ .

Records (overall/ATS): Packers 10-6/9-7; Redskins 9-7/9-7.

Outlook: Aaron Rodgers and the Packers keep thinking they’ll turn it on when they really need it, but Rodgers doesn’t look like the same QB and the Packers don’t look like the same team they were during their 6-0 start. If they can flip the switch, they’ll win by double digits against an average team with little playoff experience. But that’s a big if. The Redskins won their last four (4-0 ATS), but were 0-3 vs. winning teams this season. Potash’s pick: Packers, 31-27.

Silverman’s pick: Redskins. North’s pick: Packers.
