Cicero­man tells cops he­was shot, dies at hos­pi­tal

A west sub­ur­ban man walked up to po­lice of­fi­cers in front of the 25th District sta­tion in Bel­mont Cragin early Fri­day and told them he’d been shot. He died about 45 min­utes later.

About 1: 15 a. m., 22- year- old Court­ney Copeland got out of a car in the 5500 block of West Grand Av­enue and ap­proached of­fi­cers who were sit­ting in a squad car in front of the sta­tion, ac­cord­ing to Chicago Po­lice. He told them he was shot in the back. He was taken to Ad­vo­cate Illinois Ma­sonic Med­i­cal Cen­ter, where he died at 2: 01 a. m., ac­cord­ing to the med­i­cal ex­am­iner’s of­fice. Copeland lived in the 1800 block of South Austin in Cicero.
