Age 91. Beloved wife of the late Francis E. Napleton for 60 years; loving mother of Ellen (James) Roche, Edward (Katherine) Napleton, Stephen (Carol) Napleton, Gerald (Maribeth) Napleton, Paul (Kathleen) Napleton, Mimi (Daniel) Collins, William (Mary) Napleton and Robert (Clare) Napleton; cherished grandmothe­r of 34 grandchild­ren; and greatgrand­mother of 22; she was preceded in death by her parents, Robert W. and Evelyn Shea Raynor; and her dear sister, the late Patricia (Leroy) Utterback; she was also preceded in death by her brothers, the late Garnet (Marilyn) Raynor and the late Robert Raynor; she was the devoted daughterin-law of the late Edward and Cordula Napleton; and loving sister-in-law of the late Harry and Rita Carney; she was a fun-loving aunt and friend to many and proud U.S. Navy WW II Veteran (WAVES).

Betty was the greatest of the greatest generation who dedicated her life to her family. Her legacy as matriarch of her fine family will remain immortal. She embodied sacrifice, kindness, service, selflessne­ss, compassion, love of family, love of country, and love of her God. Together with her husband, Fran Napleton, she cofounded the Napleton Auto Group, a multi-state group of auto dealership­s. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sisters of Mercy, 7262 Mercy Road, Omaha, NE 68124 or Misericord­ia, 6300 N. Ridge Avenue, Chicago, IL 60660 would be appreciate­d.

Visitation Wednesday, 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, 8:45 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. at St. John of the Cross Parish Church, 5005 S. Wolf Road, Western Springs. Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. Arrangemen­ts by Lawn Funeral Home, (708) 636-2320.
