THREE AND OUT

- — Adam L. Jahns

1. Getting Zeke- d

Cowboys rookie Ezekiel Elliott had the first 100- yard rushing game of his promising career Sunday at AT& T Stadium.

The Bears simply had no answer for Elliott, who gave fans a late highlight by leaping over safety Chris Prosinski in the fourth quarter.

It helps to run behind the Cowboys’ strong offensive line. It also helped that the Bears were missing linebacker

Danny Trevathan ( thumb) and defensive tackle Eddie Goldman ( ankle). At times, Elliott had gaping holes to run through.

But Elliott ( 30 carries, 140 yards) is a special talent. He was due for a big game, and the Bears were the perfect foe.

2. Getting Beasley- ed

Cowboys star receiver

Dez Bryant had a quiet night before his fourth- quarter touchdown, but the Bears had major problems containing slot receiver Cole Beasley, who is listed at 5- 8 and 180 pounds.

Beasley had seven catches for 73 yards, including a long of 29 yards that set up a touchdown run by Lance Dunbar.

Beasley’s speed and quickness often made for mismatches. Plus, it didn’t help that the Bears were missing nickel back Bryce Callahan ( concussion).

3. Zach finally attacks

After quiet games against the Texans and Eagles, Zach Miller came through with a game worthy of his ‘‘ No. 1 tight end’’ label, even if it came with the Bears behind.

The Bears need Miller to be a big part of their offense, and he was quarterback Brian

Hoyer’s best option against the Cowboys. He had eight catches for 78 yards and two touchdowns.
