Balanced Sky reach WNBA semifinals
Courtney Vandersloot scored 21 points and handed out 13 assists, Jessica Breland had 20 points and 16 rebounds and the Sky defeated the Atlanta Dream 108- 98 on Sunday at Allstate Arena to advance to the semifinals of the WNBA playoffs.
Tamera Young and Cappie Pondexter added 16 points apiece for the Sky, who played their sixth consecutive game without Elena Delle Donne ( thumb) but set a season high for points and will play the Los Angeles Sparks in a best- of- five semifinal.
HOCKEY Team Europe advances to World Cup title series
Tomas Tatar scored his second goal of the game 3: 43 into overtime to lift Team Europe to a 3- 2 victory against Sweden in the semifinals of the World Cup of Hockey in Toronto. Marian Gaborik also scored for Team Europe, which will play Canada in a best- of- three championship series starting Tuesday. Erik Karlsson and Nicklas Backstrom scored for Sweden.

Kevin Harvick pulled away on a restart with six laps left to win the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race in Loudon, New Hampshire, by .442 seconds over Matt Kenseth. The victory assures Harvick of advancing to the second round of the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship.
