WINDSURFER RESCUED IN EVANS TON

A windsurfer was rescued from Lake Michigan Monday in north suburban Evanston, according to the Evanston Fire Department.

At 4:30 p.m ., Evanston fire officials arrived at Lee Street Beach after a windsurfer used his cellphone to call a friend to contact 911, according to fire officials.

At 5:35 p.m. the windsurfer, who was about 2 miles off the shore of Lee Street Beach near the 1600 block of Sheridan Road, was pulled from the water to safety, fire officials said. The man was not hurt. Sun- TimesWire

2 shot near Ickes Homes

Four people were in custody after two men were shot Monday afternoon on the South Side near the former Harold L. Ickes homes.

The shooting happened at 1: 07 p. m. in the 2600 block of South Federal Street, according to Chicago Police.

A 21- year- old man was shot in the face and neck and was taken in serious- tocritical condition to Northweste­rn Memorial Hospital, police said. A 27- year- old man was shot in the buttocks and was also taken to Northweste­rn, where his condition was stabilized.

Four suspects, three males and one female, were taken into custody after the shooting, police said. Sun- TimesWire

Man killed in Uptown

A 25- year- old man died after he was shot Sunday night in the Uptown neighborho­od on the North Side.

Gregory Tucker was driving south in the 4500 block of North Hazel at 8: 35 p. m. when someone fired shots, striking him in the head, according to Chicago Police.

Tucker, of the 4800 block of North Winthrop, was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Sun- TimesWire

Woman’s arm partly severed in Kennedy crash

A woman’s arm was partially severed in a singlevehi­cle rollover crash early Monday on the Kennedy Expressway.

The SUV rolled over about 2:15 a.m. in the outbound lanes of I -90/94 near North Avenue, according to Illinois State Police.

The vehicle was carrying a woman and two males, all of whom ran fromthe scene, police said. They were all found, and it was discovered that the woman’s arm was partially severed in the crash.

She was taken to Northweste­rn Memorial Hospital, police said. Her injuries were not thought to be lifethreat­ening. The males were not injured. Ashlee Rezin

Cops: Sex offender gave guitar lessons to underage students

A convicted child sex offender who gave several underage students lessons at a guitar school in northwest suburban Woodstock has been arrested.

David Bruce Colley, 51, was charged with one felony count of child sex offender unlawfully providing programs or services to persons under 18, according to Woodstock police.

In early September, police received an anonymous tip that a convicted child sex offender was running a guitar school at 216 Main St. in Woodstock, police said. They learned that the now- defunct “G4 Guitar School” was owned by David Bruce. The owner’s actual name was David Bruce Colley, a convicted child sex offender, police said.

Colley gave lessons to several students under 18 at the facility between Jan. 1 and June 30, according to police. He is no longer required to register as a sex offender but is still prohibited from providing any programs or services to children.

There have been no complaints of sexual abuse against Colley’s students in Woodstock, police said. Colley, of Crystal Lake, was arrested Thursday while performing a musical act at an establishm­ent in McHenry, police said.

He was released after posting $ 1,000, 10 percent of his $ 10,000 bond. Jordan Owen
