The Jets will start Geno Smith at quarterback Sunday against the Ravens at MetLife Stadium, sending Ryan Fitzpatrick and his one- year, $ 12 million contract to the sideline.

“I felt like it was time for a change,” coach Todd Bowles said.

Fitzpatrick has been a major reason for the Jets’ struggles, throwing an NFLleading 11 interceptions and just five touchdown passes during a brutal start.

Raiders to file papers

Raiders owner Mark Davis informed fellow owners that, barring an unexpected surprise, he plans in January to file papers to move his team from Oakland to Las Vegas, according to ESPN.

Las Vegas already has committed $ 750 million in public money toward building a new stadium, presumably near the Strip.

NFL sees drop in ratings

Commissioner Roger Goodell said that the league does not think it has lost viewers despite a 10 percent drop in television ratings this season.

At the same time, however, he acknowledged that league officials are trying to understand what has caused the drop and how to address it.

Concussion rules tweaked

The NFL will require the athletic trainer in the press box to stay in contact with on- field doctors to help determine if a player has a concussion.

The requirement is an enhancement made to prevent confusion that occurred in the season opener, when Carolina’s Cam Newton was allowed to return after getting hit in the head.

Bryant cuts fingers

Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant cut the middle and ring fingers on his right hand while cutting carrots for some soup, but he called it “extremely, extremely minor.”

Bryant was on the practice field for the Cowboys’ lone practice of the bye week, but he did not catch any passes.

Dolphins safety Reshad Jones will miss the rest of the season because of a shoulder injury.

Bills running back LeSean McCoy did not finish practice after experiencing tightness in one of his hamstrings.

Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. missed practice with a hip injury.
