3 CHARGED WITH PAIR OF ARMED ROBBERIES IN WRIGLEYVIL­LE

Three men have been charged with a pair of armed robberies early Saturday in the Wrigleyvil­le neighborho­od on the North Side.

The robberies occurred about 2: 40 a. m. in the 900 block of West Grace and about 2: 45 a. m. in the 1200 block of West Waveland, police said. In each incident, Joseph Lewis, 20, Donzell Lloyd, 19, and Jwan Farley, 20, spotted a lone female victim walking and used their vehicle to block her path when she came to an alley, according to police.

They then exited the vehicle, told the victim they had a weapon and demanded her belongings, police said. A nearby friend of one of the victims was able to give the vehicle’s license plate number to investigat­ors.

Officers later pulled the vehicle over in the 1600 block of North Lake Shore Drive and took the men into custody, according to police. All proceeds from the robberies were recovered. Luke Wilusz

Pair charged with robbing Dick’s Sporting Goods stores

Destiny U. Glascow, 18, of Carpenters­ville, and a 16- yearold girl have been charged with robbing two suburban Dick’s Sporting Goods stores.

About 1 p. m. on Saturday, police responded to a report of armed robbery at the Dick’s Sporting Goods store located at 2763 W. 75th St. The two used mace on store employees before driving off with stolen clothes, according to police.

Officers pulled over their vehicle near the intersecti­on of Ogden Avenue and Rickert Road and took them into custody.

Women steal purse, batter victim

A woman was robbed and battered by two other women Saturday in west suburban Naperville.

Police say two women walked into a business at 1620 Pebblewood Lane and took another woman’s purse. When the victim tried to stop the theft she was battered and the two women ran away with her purse.

The two women got into a late model silver Nissan SUV and were last seen at the intersecti­on of Diehl Road and Route 59, police said.

The suspects were described as two women in their 20s with black hair. One was 5- foot- 6 and wore black framed glasses and a gray winter coat. The other was wearing a blue winter coat and dark colored jeans.

2 hurt, 1 critically, in drive- by

Two people were wounded — one critically — in a shooting early Saturday in the East Garfield Park neighborho­od on the West Side.

A man, 25, and woman, 19, were sitting in a parked vehicle about 1: 10 a. m. in the 3200 block of West Warren Boulevard when a silver vehicle pulled up and someone inside shot at them, Chicago Police said.

The man was shot in the head and the woman was struck in the left leg, police said. Both were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where the man was in critical condition and the woman was in good condition.

3 shot on Near North Side

Three people were wounded in a shooting Saturday morning on the Near North Side.

They were standing on the street about 2: 50 a. m. in the first block of West Elm when a grey SUV pulled up and someone got out and fired multiple shots, police said.

All three were taken to Northweste­rn Hospital, where they were in good condition, or their condition had stabilized, police said.

A police source said two of the victims are documented gang members and the other is a felon. The victims are not from the area and police are looking into a possible narcotics connection as a motive for the shooting.
