ARRIVING
Yoan Moncada, 21: The top prospect in baseball, according to MLB. com, the switch- hitting second baseman has power and speed and also can play third base or the outfield. He had a combined .918 OPS in 106 games at Class A and Class AA. MichaelKopech, 20: A right- hander with velocity in the high 90s, he was a first- round pick in 2014. He has struck out 172 batters in 134⅔ innings in minors. The 30th- ranked prospect in baseball, he was suspended for 50 games in 2015 for a PED violation and was limited to 12 starts in 2016 after breaking his right hand in a fight with a teammate. Luis Basabe, 20: The Red Sox’ eighth- ranked prospect, he has the tools to project as a starting center fielder but also has a high strikeout rate. Batted .264/. 328/. 452 with 12 home runs and 25 stolen bases, mostly at high Class A. Victor Diaz, 22: The right- hander has a high- 90s fastball and projects as a relief pitcher. Posted a 3.88 ERA and averaged 9.4 strikeouts and 3.7 walks per nine innings at Class A.
