2 Chicago Police officers injured in Loop crash
Two Chicago Police officers were injured in a crash early Thursday in the Loop.
About 12: 20 a. m., a Mitsubishi Montero was driving south in the 500 block of South State Street when it rear- ended a Chicago Police squad car and a CTA bus, according to Chicago Police.
Two officers in the squad car suffered minor injuries in the crash and were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said. No other injuries were reported.

Police: Man killed in Bridgeport crash
A man was killed in a single- vehicle crash early Thursday in the Bridgeport neighborhood on the South Side, police said.
At 4: 24 a. m., the man was driving north in the 3400 block of South Halsted when his vehicle sideswiped a parked vehicle, according to Chicago Police.
He then lost control of his vehicle, which hit a city light pole and came to rest against a building, police said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
No other injuries were reported, including a driver sitting in the sideswiped parked vehicle, waiting for it to warm up, police said.

Man accused of stabbing in ‘ random’ store attack
A man has been charged with stabbing a teen and wounding another male in a “random” attack at a gro- cery store in north suburban Waukegan on Wednesday night.
Emergency crews were called about 7: 45 p. m. to a report of a stabbing at the Super Fresh Market at 1700 N. Lewis Ave., according to Waukegan police.
Witnesses gave officers a description of the suspect and around 7: 50 p. m. Andrew Lozano was found and arrested behind a strip mall in the 1500 block of North Lewis, police said.
Detectives believe Lozano went into a Metro PCS store inside the Super Fresh Market and got into an altercation with a female employee, police said. Two of the female’s friends intervened, and Lozano stabbed one of the males and hurt the other.
The two males, in their late teens, took themselves to a hospital with minor injuries and are expected to recover, police said. There is no known relationship between Lozano and the employee or the victims.
Lozano, 24, of Waukegan has been charged with aggravated battery and unlawful use of a weapon, police said. He is currently being held at the Lake County Jail on a $ 300,000 bond.
He has also been charged with aggravated battery stemming from a Feb. 10 incident, police said. Lozano went to a Motel 6 in the 00- 100 block of North Green Bay Road, became upset with the clerk and started kicking and hitting him.
The clerk was hospitalized with internal injuries and is expected to recover, police said.

Man, 28, shot in Lawndale
A 28- year- old man was shot Thursday evening in the West Side Lawndale neighborhood.
The shooting happened at 5: 08 p. m. in the 4300 block of West Ogden, according to Chicago Police.
The man was shot in the back and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition, police said. Ashlee Rezin
