Finding Gideon ( on sale Tuesday) marks the return of one of Dickey’s most popular characters, the mysterious and sexy hit man Gideon. Fans have waited since 2009 — the year Resurrecting Midnight was published — for Gideon’s comeback.

In the new novel, readers find Gideon in Buenos Aires battling the international mercenaries known as the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, one of whom may be his longlost and violent father.
Dickey has written more than 20 books starring African- American characters, from erotica to mysteries, including 2016’ s The Blackbirds, about the friendship of four women. The Blackbirds will be reissued in paperback the same day Finding Gideon is published. Dickey’s other best sellers include Sleeping With Strangers ( part of the Gideon series), Pleasure and Chasing Destiny. A comics fan, Dickey also wrote a sixissue miniseries of graphic novels featuring Storm ( XMen) and the Black Panther in 2006.
