Wolves notch division title

Andrew Agozzino scored on a power play 3: 41 into overtime, giving the Wolves a 4- 3 victory against the Charlotte Checkers in their regular- season finale Saturday at Allstate Arena and enabling them to win the American Hockey League’s Central Division by a point over the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Wade Megan, Jordan Caron and Samuel Blais also scored for the Wolves ( 44- 19- 8- 5), who rallied from a 3- 1 deficit in the third period and will face the Checkers in the first round of the playoffs.

The first two games of the bestof- five series will be Thursday and Friday in Charlotte, North Carolina, before the Wolves return home to play Game 3 next Sunday at Allstate Arena. Games 4 and 5 will be April 25 and April 26, if necessary.

Bears re- sign OLB Acho

The Bears re- signed outside linebacker Sam Acho to a one- year contract. He had 40 tackles ( plus three on special teams), three tackles for loss, one sack, one pass breakup and one forced fumble last season.

Acho appeared in 31 of the Bears’ 32 games the last two seasons after spending his first four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals.

Fire blank Revolution

Bastian Schweinste­iger scored late in the first half and Nemanja Nikolic twice in the second to spark the Fire ( 3- 1- 2) to a 3- 0 vic- tory against the New England Revolution in Major League Soccer action at Toyota Park.

The Revolution played a man down most of the way after Je- Vaughn Watson was sent off in the 27th minute after receiving two yellow cards.

Real Madrid will play the Major League Soccer All- Stars on Aug. 2 at Soldier Field.

Dufner leads in Hilton Head

Jason Dufner made two eagles on his way to a 6- under- par 65 and took a one- stroke lead over Graham DeLaet after the third round of the RBC Heritage in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Dufner completed 54 holes at 13- under 200.
