MAN SHOT TO DEATH ON RYAN; OFFICERS HURT IN PURSUIT

A man was killed and another wounded in a shooting 5: 12 p. m. Wednesday on the Dan Ryan Expy. near the Chinatown neighborho­od.

The shooting happened on Interstate 90/ 94 West near Exit 53A leading to Canalport Avenue and Cermak Road, according to State Police.

The two men were shot when another man got out of his vehicle on the Chinatown feeder ramp and fired shots into their vehicle, State Police said. A man was in custody, State Police said. Two Chicago Police officers were injured while pursuing the suspect, in a crash near 31st and Shields, Chicago Police said. One was in serious condition and the other in good condition.

Suspect in custody in murder of Schaumburg woman

A suspect is in custody in the murder of 33- yearold Tiffany Thrasher, found strangled Sunday in her Schaumburg apartment, police announced Wednesday.

A news release from Schaumburg police said only that the suspect is male.

Misty King, Thrasher’s sister, released a family statement Wednesday.

“Our hearts are literally broken imagining what my sister went through in the last hours of her life,” King wrote. “She was truly a loving, happy person. . . . Skokie plot foiled: police

Two middle school students were in custody for allegedly “plotting to shoot someone” at their north suburban Skokie school.

Just after 10: 30 a. m. Wednesday, police were called by Skokie School District 73.5 officials and “informed of a plan by two students to commit a shooting” at McCracken Middle School “in the near future,” a statement from Skokie police said. The juveniles were placed in the custody of the Juvenile Justice System, police said. Sun- Times Wire

No bond in fatal shooting near Red Line station

A 33- year- old man has been charged with Monday’s fatal shooting of Javontay Tolliver outside the Red Line CTA stop at West 55th and South Wentworth.

Frederick Stewart on Wednesday was ordered held without bond for firstdegre­e murder.

Moments after the shooting, Stewart was arrested by Chicago Police officers a few blocks from the Red Line stop after a brief chase.

Surveillan­ce footage showed Stewart and Tolliver arguing near the turnstiles at the CTA stop and Stewart grabbing Tolliver, Cook County prosecutor­s said.

Video shows Stewart chasing Tolliver into the street while pointing a gun, prosecutor­s said. Tolliver fell, and Stewart allegedly shot him as he tried to get up.

Tolliver, 34, was shot three times and died at Stroger Hospital. Andy Grimm

Man stabbed in forehead

A 36- year- old man was seriously wounded around 7: 30 p. m. Wednesday when he was stabbed in his forehead during a fight on a CTA Red Line train as it approached the Sox- 35th Street station.
