THE MITCH TRUBISKY FILE

- — Mark Potash

Position: Quarterback College: North Carolina Ht/ Wt: 6- 2, 222

Background: Fourth- year junior started for the first time last season, completing 68 percent of his passes and throwing 40 touchdowns and six interceptions in 13 games ( 8- 5) He was a backup as a redshirt freshman and sophomore.

Strengths: Quick release, accurate and ability to make every throw. Good- enough athleticism with good mobility and better escapability — has a knack for feeling the pressure and using his feet to make a big play downfield or a big run for a first down.

Weaknesses: Inexperienced. Trubisky did not start a game in college prior to last season. Ran a spread offense in college, with little experience working under center. He’s raw and doesn’t have a cannon for an arm.

The skinny: With Mike Glennon in front of him, Trubisky likely will get the time he needs to learn the NFL style without the pressure to perform. For the price the Bears paid, though, eventually the pressure to succeed will be immense.
