3 SHOOTINGS IN BACK OF THE YARDS

A 25- year- old man was shotMonday night in the Back of the Yards neighborhood.

Hewaswalking on the street about 9: 30 p. m. in the 4800 block of South Paulina when amale shot him from the sidewalk, according to Chicago Police. The manwas in critical condition, police said.

Earlier, a 23- year- old man was woundedMonday afternoon in a drive- by shooting in Back of the Yards, the second within an hour in the South Side neighborhood.

The victim said he saw a dark- colored vehicle driving south onMorgan, then heard shots fired and felt pain, according to Chicago Police. He was shot in the thigh just before 4: 30 p. m. in the 5300 block of South Morgan.

His condition was unknown, police said.

The victim is a documented gang member.

About an hour earlier and four blocks away, a 19- yearold man was walking in the 1100 block ofWest 51st Street when a dark- colored Toyota Camry drove up, according to police. Four males inside fired shots, and the man was hit in the knee. JacobWittich, Francesca Gattuso

16- year- old girl shot

A 16- year- old girl was shot Monday night in the Little Village neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

About 9: 40 p. m., she was walking with two males on the sidewalk in the 3300 block ofWest 24th Street when a male came out of a alley and fired shots, striking the girl in the left leg and foot, according to Chicago Police. The girl was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where her condition stabilized, police said. JacobWittich

Search for teen continues

Amassive search continued for a teenager who went missing Saturday after jumping into the Des Plaines River in unincorporated Cook County, officials said.

Sonar boats were to be used Tuesday, Sheriff Tom Dart said.

Three teens reportedly jumped from a railroad bridge about 4: 30 p. m. Saturday just southeast of First and North avenues near Melrose Park. Two surfaced, but the third went missing. Sun- TimesWire
