Twins’ Santana tosses two- hitter

Ervin Santana pitched a two- hitter for his 10th career shutout, Brian Dozier homered and the surging Minnesota Twins beat the host Baltimore Orioles 2- 0 on Tuesday.

The American League Central- leading Twins earned their ninth victory in their last 13 games.

It was Santana’s 18th complete game and second this season. He finished by retiring the last 14 batters.

Nationals 10, Mariners 1

Anthony Rendon homered twice and drove in five runs, Joe Ross returned from the minors to allow one run in a career- high- tying eight innings and the Washington Nationals routed the visiting Seattle Mariners.

Bryce Harper added his 14th homer and Jayson Werth his seventh against Chris Bergman ( 1- 2), who allowed all of the Nationals’ runs and 14 of their 15 hits.

Royals 6, Yankees 2

Danny Duffy beat the New York Yankees for the second time in a week, and rookie Jorge Bonifacio capped a three- run seventh inning with a go- ahead two- run homer that led the visiting Kansas City Royals to victory.

Lorenzo Cain, Whit Merrifield and Mike Moustakas also homered late for the Royals, who went deep four times in a span of nine batters.

Mets 9, Padres 3

Michael Conforto homered twice and had a career- high four RBI, including three on two hits during the New York Mets’ seven- run first inning — their biggest in 13 years— and Matt Harvey won his first home start since being suspended for failing to show up for a game in a rout of the visiting San Diego Padres.

Lucas Duda broke out of a slump with three hits and three RBI, and manager Terry Collins earned his 500th victory with the Mets.

Angels 4, Rays 0

Cameron Maybin and Mike Trout hit back- toback homers to begin the game, Matt Shoemaker won his third consecutiv­e start and the Los Angeles Angels beat the host Tampa Bay Rays. Trout has hit seven homers in his last 11 games.

MLB’s founding documents to be auctioned

The 1876 constituti­on that founded the National League and the modern business of big- league sports is going up for sale. The documents were drafted and signed in a New York hotel by the game’s founding fathers, such as William Hulbert, the owner of the team that would become the Cubs.

Also, the sales contract of Babe Ruth that sent the pitcher and slugger from the Boston Red Sox to the Yankees in 1919 is being sold by Lelands. com.
