Have you visited Just Shrimp Lately?

-

In a little over two years, Just Shrimp in Tinley Park, has proven themselves to be one of the south side’s top seafood restaurants. In both 2015 and 2016, Just Shrimp has been named ‘ Best Seafood’ by Daily Southtown’s, Best of Chicago’s Southland. Within these two years, this unique seafood niche has expanded tremendously. Since opening in November 2014, Just Shrimp has added not only a variety of menu items to accommodate to all customers, but has also opened two more locations. One location located on 127th street, just west of Cal Sag Road in Alsip, and its newest location in the food court of Ford City Mall. Although the name suggests shrimp, you don’t necessarily need to like shrimp to eat here; Just Shrimp’s menu offers a lot more than, ‘ just shrimp’. Lake Perch, Catfish, Cod, Lobster, Smelts, Oysters, and Gator are just a few of many options available at Just Shrimp. The customer favorite, lobster roll, and the shrimp roll sandwich are amongst the non- fried menu items. The lobster roll is made the traditional New England way, with whole Maine boiled lobster, mayonnaise, chopped celery, lemon juice, and house seasoning. It is served cold on a lightly toasted and buttered New England roll. The shrimp roll is made with boiled shrimp mixed with a homemade lime tarragon mayonnaise sauce, also served on a lightly toasted, buttered New England roll. With an increase in interest for non- fried seafood options, Just Shrimp recently introduced their smoked salmon salad sandwich. This sandwich is made almost identical to the lobster roll sandwich in which it is mixed with light mayonnaise, chopped celery, and served on a buttered and toasted New England roll. By boiling whole lobsters daily in order to meet customer demands for their popular lobster roll sandwich, a perfect base is created for their unforgettable soup. By adding a touch of heavy cream and light tomato, an exceptional bisque is created. Just Shrimp aims to provide fresh, high quality food at a reasonable price. Trucks arrive daily to provide the restaurant with fresh, wild caught products. With a variety of dipping sauces, customers have the ability to customize their order by adding their personal sauce preference. Amongst the seven mouthwatering sauces offered, customer favorite is Just Shrimp’s signature homemade spicy sauce. Other sauces include traditional cocktail, buffalo, mild, tartar, BBQ, and hot. Shrimp packs as well as other fish meals are served with a generous side of fries and fresh coleslaw. Customers who wish to skip the fries, have the option of upgrading to another side for an additional $ 1.20. These substitutions include fried zucchini, mushrooms, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and fried okra. Most meals on the menu can also be purchased as a sandwich, served on a toasted French roll, with lettuce, tomato, and a perfectly paired sauce. Whether looking for a quick bite to eat or an entire seafood dining experience, Just Shrimp can accommodate you. With quick service, reasonable prices, and a small dining area, Just Shrimp fills the void of the forgotten local shrimp house. The Tinley Park location is open Monday- Thursday 11AM – 10PM, Saturday 11AM – 11PM, and closed on Sunday. The Alsip location is open Monday- Saturday 11AM – 9PM and closed on Sunday. The Ford City location is open Monday- Saturday 10AM – 9PM and 11AM – 6PM on Sunday.
