MAN CHARGED IN CHATHAM SHOOTING

A man has been charged with shooting two people Thursday morning in the South Side Chatham neighborho­od.

Timothy McGhee, 26, faces one count of attempted first- degree murder and two counts of aggravated battery with discharge of a firearm, all felonies, according to Chicago Police.

McGhee shot two people at 11: 10 a. m. Thursday in the 700 block of East 92nd Street, police said.

An 18- year- old woman was shot in the shoulder and was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where her condition was stabilized, police said. A 26- year- old man was also shot and took himself to Jackson Park Hospital.

McGhee, who lives on the block of the shooting, was ordered held without bond at the Cook County Jail on Saturday, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office. Jordan Owen

Truck hauling corn syrup rollsover on I- 355ramp

A truck carrying corn syrup rolled over Sunday morning and spilled its load near southwest suburban New Lenox.

The commercial truck rolled over at 7: 20 a. m. on the ramp from southbound I- 355 to eastbound I- 80, according to Illinois State Police. No life- threatenin­g injuries were reported. Sun- TimesWire

Nuke plant back online

A nuclear reactor in central Illinois has begun operating again just over a year after the plant owner warned it would shut down this month if financial losses continued.

The State Journal- Register reported that in between, Gov. Bruce Rauner signed legislatio­n providing $ 235 million in ratepayer subsidies annually to Exelon Corp. to keep running the Clinton Power Station and a nuclear power station in the Quad Cities for at least another decade.
