Paramedics injured when ambulance struck in Palatine

Two paramedics suffered injuries Thursday when the ambulance they were in was struck and rolled over in northwest suburban Palatine.

The ambulance was headed west on Palatine Road while responding to an emergency when it collided with a van headed north on Rohlwing Road, police said. The ambulance rolled on its side, while the van spun and struck a lamppost, knocking it down.

The paramedics and the driver of the van were taken to a hospital, but their injuries were not believed to be life threatenin­g.
