Lesbians before the lens
In “Lives: Visible,” a stash of snapshots offers a comprehensive look at lesbian life in East Rogers Park in the mid- 20th century. Chicago filmmaker Michelle Citron bases her work on the photos of Norma and Virginia, a couple who lived together for nearly 50 years. The documentary plays Friday and Wednesday at the Gene Siskel Film Center.
