TRUMP CAMPAIGN’S DIGITAL ADVISER PLANS TO TESTIFY
House intelligence panel requested an interview
The former digital adviser for President Trump’s 2016 campaign said Friday that he has agreed to talk to the House Intelligence Committee to answer questions about Russian meddling in the election.
Brad Parscale, who is based in Texas and describes himself as the digital, social and media adviser to the Trump presidential campaign, tweeted Friday that he is “unaware of any Russian involvement in the digital and data operations” of the Trump campaign.
“The Trump digital campaign used the exact same digital marketing strategies that are used every day by corporate America,” he wrote on Twitter. “The only collaboration I am aware of in the Trump digital campaign was with staff provided to the campaign by Facebook, Google and Twitter.”
Parscale said he accepted a request from the Intelligence Committee to meet with members for a voluntary interview.
“I look forward to sharing with them everything I know,” he said.
The McClatchy Washington Bureau reported Tuesday that the House and Senate Intelligence committees and the Justice Department are investigating whether the Trump campaign’s digital operation helped guide Russia’s fake news attacks on Hillary Clinton in 2016.
The digital operation was overseen by Trump’s son- inlaw, Jared Kushner. Kushner hired Parscale, according to the McClatchy report.
Parscale, according to McClatchy, had previously done work for the Trump Organization, which is the Trump family business.
Parscale’s company earned about $ 90 million for campaign work targeting states with paid advertisements, social media messages and other cyber tools, theMcClatchy story said.
