18- year- old man shot by police on Northwest Side
An 18- year- old man who allegedly was holding a gun in the back seat of a vehicle was shot by at least one Chicago Police officer early Sunday in the Belmont Central neighborhood on the Northwest Side.
At 3: 07 a. m., Grand Central District officers pulled over a vehicle in the alley in the 2800 block of North Mulligan after the driver committed an alleged traffic violation, according to a police statement.
Officers approached the vehicle and saw someone armed with a gun in the back seat, police said. An officer and a sergeant fired their weapons, striking him in the arm and leg.
He was taken to Loyola UniversityMedical Center in Maywood, where his condition had stabilized, police said. No officers were injured.
A weapon was recovered at the scene, police said.
The officers involved in the incident will be placed on routine administrative duties for 30 days, per Chicago Police Department policy. JacobWittich
Car crashes into tree in Buffalo Grove
A person was seriously injured when a car crashed into a tree Friday night in northwest suburban Buffalo Grove.
The Buffalo Grove fire and police departments responded about 10: 35 p. m. to Buffalo Grove Road near Aptakisic Road, where the four- door Toyota Corolla had crashed into the tree, according to the Buffalo Grove Fire Department.
The driver, whose age and gender were unknown, was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated out, the fire department said. Sun- TimesWire

A man was shot Sunday morning in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.
The 38- year- old man was standing on the sidewalk at 5: 13 a. m. in the 5900 block of South Carpenter when a large fight broke out and shots were fired, according to Chicago Police.
The man was taken with a gunshot wound to the abdomen to St. Bernard Hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said. He was to be transferred to Stroger Hospital. JacobWittich
Woman, 29, wounded in Englewood shooting
A 29- year- old woman was shot early Sunday in the South Side Englewood neighborhood.
About 2: 50 a. m., she was standing on the street in the 6800 block of South Perry when she heard shots and felt pain, according to Chicago Police.
The woman was taken to Stroger Hospital with a gunshot wound to the right buttocks, police said. Her condition had stabilized. JacobWittich

At least eight Honda vehicles were stolen in the past three weeks from the Northwest Side.
In all eight incidents, the vehicles were legally parked when stolen, according to Chicago Police. All of the vehicles were made by Honda.
