Santana helps Brewers end skid
Domingo Santana singled home the winning run in the ninth inning after the Milwaukee Brewers blew a big lead, and the visitors beat the Philadelphia Phillies 9- 8 on Saturday night to snap a seasonworst six- game losing streak. Ryan Braun homered and drove in four runs, and Travis Shaw also homered for the Brewers, who let an 8- 1 lead get away by allowing seven runs in the seventh and eighth.
German Marquez matched a career best with nine strikeouts in seven solid innings and fired a wayward pitch that fueled a near brawl as the host Colorado Rockies beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 7- 3. The loss ended the Pirates’ six- game winning streak.

The Texas Rangers turned three miscues into a three- run sixth inning during a 4- 3 victory over the host Tampa Bay Rays. Bad hammy lands Castro back on disabled list
New York Yankees second baseman Starlin Castro will be put on the disabled list with another injury to his right hamstring. Activated off the DL on July 15, Castro reinjured his hamstring while running out a ground ball on Wednesday.
